Southpace Brokers Complete More Than $11 Million in Local Transactions During Month of July

Lauriello and Crowe also represented the landlord in the leasing of 4,190 SF to Strata Engineering at Hitchcock Plaza in Birmingham, Alabama.

Bryan Holt, CCIM and Blake Thomas represented Tacala in a land lease of an acre at 14650 Highway 231 in Hazel Green, Alabama. Holt also represented Great Clips in the leasing of 1,400 SF at Northport Corners shopping center in Northport, Alabama and 1,600 SF at Waddell Plaza shopping center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Southpace Properties Adds New Hire to Development and Consulting Division

Southpace Properties, Inc. today announced a new hire to their development and consulting division.

Kathy Okrongley has joined Southpace, Alabama’s largest independent commercial real estate firm, in a new position providing development and consulting options for Southpace clients. In her new role, Okrongley’s focus will be on commercial retail developments, client-based development needs and renovations of historic buildings for adaptive reuse.

Okrongley brings with her more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, with a primary focus in commercial development. She has operated and managed various development companies for almost 15 years, following a proven career as Senior Real Estate Manager for Walgreens. Okrongley’s background encompasses all aspects of project development, including site and market analysis, site planning and design, acquisitions, contract negotiations, zoning and entitlement, team management, pro-forma analysis and construction management.

Southpace Properties Has Largest Presence Among All Firms in the Commercial Club of Excellence

For 27 years of the 28-year history of the Birmingham Commercial Realtors Council Commercial Club of Excellence (and 18 years in a row), Southpace Properties Inc. has had more brokers named to the BCRC Commercial Club of Excellence than any other real estate firm.  

This year proves as no exception with a total of 13 brokers receiving award recognition for their outstanding sales and achievements in 2015.

Southpace’s qualifying brokers in the sales and leasing division and investment division include: John Lauriello, Bill McDavid, Bryan Holt, Rich Vanchina, Blake Crowe, Andrew Loveman, Michael Randman, David Ashford, Stephen Lazarus, Stutts Everette, Steve Mordecai, Bob Vines and Joseph Sedita. 

Among achieving placement in the Commercial Club of Excellence, other affiliated honors and awards include Southpace Principal John Lauriello becoming a 34 Years Club Member and Michael Randman becoming a 22 Years Club Member.

Southpace Broker David Ashford Chosen as BBJ Top 40 Under 40

Southpace has recently added yet another Top 40 Under 40 honoree to our list.

David Ashford, CCIM, Director of our Retail Division and Associate Broker, has just been named to the Birmingham Business Journal 2016 Top 40 Under 40 class.

The BBJ calls David “The $100 million dollar man” as a nod to the more than $150 million dollars in gross transaction volume he has closed in his 15-year commercial real estate career to date.

Some of David’s most notable transactions include helping bring the Whole Foods Market to the Hoover area in what was formerly known as the Riverchase Village shopping center and also selling the Doster Construction headquarters in Irondale. He is also currently responsible for leasing more than 1,100,000 square feet of shopping center space.

David and the other Top 40 honorees will be celebrated at a cocktail event Thursday, February 18th at Iron City.

Southpace Properties will continue to manage the property for the new owners.

This year proves as no exception with a total of 15 brokers receiving award recognition for their outstanding sales and achievements in 2014.
