Southpace is excited to host the Retail Brokers Network Retreat this October. The Retail Brokers Network brings together more than 60 independent commercial real estate offices nationwide, and we value being part of this group.

Over three days, members from across the country will visit Birmingham to connect, share ideas, and experience the momentum of our city’s neighborhood retail market. The retreat will feature Birmingham’s restaurants, breweries, retail villages, historic landmarks, and much more.

We look forward to welcoming our fellow members and highlighting what makes Birmingham a strong market for retail.

August Highlights and Openings!

Bryan Holt, Sam Centeno and Bradley Keller represented Valvoline in securing two new sites that opened this month. Valvoline opened its first location in Prattville, Alabama with Ford Fitts of ACRE as the developer and another location in Madison, Alabama developed by David Rodgers and Les Lewis of Trident.

Two new Taco Bell locations opened in Huntsville and Jasper, represented by Blake Thomas. In the Huntsville transaction, Sandra Vann with Legend Realty represented the seller.

Garrett Laurie represented the landlord at Leeds Station, leasing the last available space to Total Wireless and bringing the property to 100% occupancy.

July Openings!

Taco Bell and 7 Brew opened earlier this month in Chelsea, taking over the former Marathon Gas Station site along Highway 280. Blake Thomas represented both tenants in securing these new locations. 7 Brew celebrated their grand opening with a $1,000 donation to Children’s of Alabama during the ribbon cutting.

First Watch opened its newest location in Prattville in early July. Bryan Holt, Sam Centeno, and Bradley Keller represented them in securing the former O’Charley’s site.

Meet Frances! Frances recently joined Southpace as our Retail Coordinator after graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing with a minor in Sales.

During college, she interned with the City of Opelika’s Economic Development team, gaining hands-on experience with industry recruitment and workforce initiatives. That sparked her interest in how business decisions shape local economies and deepened her understanding of market dynamics. She’s excited to bring her curiosity and energy to the team and continue growing in the world of commercial real estate.

Alex Benson, representing the landlord, secured Craft's Chicken's third location at the former Wendy’s site along Highway 280. Thank you to Jamie Justice with Colliers for representing Craft’s Chicken and helping bring this deal together.

Bryan Holt, Sam Centeno and Bradley Keller represented Valvoline in securing their first location in Montgomery, AL. The new store opened today along Atlanta Highway. Congratulations to the entire team!
