Over the course of a year, we complete a lot of transactions here at Southpace. However, there are always a few deals that stand above the rest. Below are the top 10 transactions our brokers facilitated in 2013.

Additional information: Bryan and Tyler represented Gander Mountain in the purchase of four acres and lease negotiations for a new store location on McFarland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

 

Multi-family Apartment Portfolio Sale in Highlands Area

Purchaser: Cliff Road Properties, LLC

Additional information: Stephen Lazarus represented the buyer in the purchase of seven multi-family apartment buildings in the historic Highland/Southside area.

Additional information: This property was purchased by the city of Vestavia for their new city hall after Southpace was asked to study the property for possible redevelopment under the city’s master plan for the area. The city has committed to the redevelopment of the Hwy 31 corridor and this represents one of the largest commercial properties on that corridor. Vestavia will be the catalyst for more redevelopment to come in the immediate area surrounding the subject property.

Additional information: Blake represented Source Medical in a lease renewal of 30,000 SF of office space at the Bruno Capital Building in Birmingham, Alabama. The company, which provides 120± technology jobs to the local economy, had the opportunity to move to several nearby markets, but chose to stay within the city limits of Birmingham.

Additional information: John and Blake represented the owner in the sale of the 60,000 SF Booker T. Washington building at 1728 3rd Avenue North in Birmingham, Alabama. This property is being redeveloped and will deliver a mixed-use property of residential and office suites to downtown.
