IREM Makes Southpace Property Management Better

At Southpace, professional development of our people is a top priority. It’s why we implemented our Southpace Learning Series and why we have the state’s highest number of accredited CCIM brokers under one roof. The comparable organization for property management is the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
IREM is an International community of real estate managers dedicated to promoting ethical business practices, which maximize the value of any property all the way down to maintenance, client relations, and retention. It is a great resource for up-to-date information about real estate needs, publications, and industry events.
IREM also partners with various institutions, like financial or accounting software manufacturers and provides education courses and various accreditations and certifications, including the Certified Property Manager® (CPM) certification. IREM is a very prestigious international real estate organization and the only one that covers all of the commercial and multi-family sectors.
Southpace has been a member of IREM and an Accredited Management Organization (AMO) since 1995. This year, our team was honored to receive the AMO® Firm of the Year Award. This award is given each year to the AMO firm with a team that best exemplifies professionalism and service to the property management industry and the community at large.
Southpace has two CPM® designees and I currently serve as the Alabama chapter of IREM’s treasurer and will rotate into vice presidency in 2013. As Vice President, I will assist the president and chair committees for Student Outreach, Members At Large and Special Projects.
I was also honored to receive the Membership Recruitment award at the annual awards luncheon. Our recruiting efforts have focused on reconnecting with members who became inactive during the recent recession.
Our involvement in IREM is just one illustration of our commitment to providing quality, experienced management services to our customers. Taking care of our clients is something that we never take for granted and we will always look for innovative, better ways to serve them.
